ACSR Overhead Conductor Greases
Corrosion Protection Grease for ACSR Conductors
Protecting the steel core and aluminum strands of ACSR conductors against moisture, oxidation, and long-term corrosion.
OPSTECH ACSR Overhead Conductor Greases are specially formulated for aluminum conductor steel reinforced (ACSR) transmission lines. The grease forms a durable moisture barrier inside the conductor, helping prevent corrosion of galvanized steel cores while reducing oxidation between steel and aluminum wires.
Designed for both new conductor manufacturing and maintenance applications, our greases provide long-term protection in coastal, industrial, tropical, and high-humidity environments where corrosion is one of the primary causes of conductor deterioration.
With more than four decades of grease manufacturing experience, OPSTECH supplies conductor greases to cable manufacturers and power utilities worldwide. The products comply with international performance requirements including IEC 61394, BS EN 50326, and GB/T 36292 where applicable.
Why ACSR Conductors Need Protective Grease
Although ACSR conductors combine excellent electrical conductivity with high mechanical strength, their steel core remains vulnerable to corrosion when exposed to moisture over many years.
Rainwater, condensation, coastal salt spray, industrial pollutants, and temperature cycling can gradually penetrate the conductor. Once moisture reaches the steel core, corrosion may begin, reducing mechanical strength and shortening service life.
A high-quality conductor grease helps:
- Seal the conductor against moisture intrusion
- Protect galvanized steel cores from corrosion
- Reduce galvanic corrosion between aluminum and steel
- Extend conductor service life
- Lower maintenance and replacement costs
- Improve long-term transmission reliability
Features & Benefits
Excellent Corrosion Protection
Creates a continuous protective barrier that isolates metal surfaces from water, oxygen, and corrosive contaminants.
Strong Water Resistance
Maintains stable protection under heavy rain, high humidity, and coastal environments without being easily washed away.
Long-Term Stability
Resists drying, cracking, hardening, or separation during long-term service.
Good Compatibility
Compatible with galvanized steel wires, aluminum strands, and commonly used conductor manufacturing processes.
Easy Application
Suitable for grease filling during conductor stranding or for maintenance and repair of existing transmission lines.
